1 WHEREAS, the City recognizes the hard work, dedication and service performed by its employees through
2 aformalEmployeeRecognitionProgram. TheCitybelievesexcellenceinCitygovernmentrequiresastrong
3 commihnent to promote employee excellence and morale and pride in work; believes the benefits of
4 attracting retaining and motivating employees through an Employee Recognition Progam support employee
5 job satisfaction, and that this in turn increases cooperation and productivity. The result is to provide
6 excellent public and customer service to better serve the interests of the citizens of the community.

8 WHEREAS, excellence in Citygovernment supports programs that enable employees to receive recognition
9 for their dedication and work; and programs are supported that enable employees to receive recognition for

their dedication and work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the following programs and expenses are determined to be
for a public purpose; and FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Office of Human Resources be authorized to
reimburse various vendors for costs incurred in providing the following programs and services in 2003; to
be paid out of General Fund, Activity 00165.
16 Years of Service Iiecognition
17 Service award pins far employees with 10 to 15 years of service not to exceed $2800.00
18 Service awardpins and abreakfast for employees with 20 to 45 yrs of service, not to exceed $2900.00
19 Misa Supplies in preparation far ceremony, not to exceed $300
20 Honorarium for guest speaker talking on work related topic, not to exceed $1000

Karl Neid Community 5ervice Award supplies; not to exceed $500.
