WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composecl. of the Mayor, the Purchasing
A�ent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Commissioner of Public Works,
of the City of Saint Pa.ul, has secur�d an agreement for the purchase of
that certain property described as follows:
Those parts of Lots 9 and 10, Block 3, in Whitney & Smiths
addition to St. Pa.ul (Note; includes Blocks 1-12j which lie
westerly of the following described linet
Beginning at a point on th� southwest line of said I,ot 9,
18.85 feet northerly from the southwest corner of said Lot 9;
thence along a straijght line to a point on the northwest line �

of said Lot 10, 11 feet easterly from the northyrest corner °of
said Lot 10 and there terminating; and
Wf�REAS, The property described herein is necessary for the widening of Wacouta
Street and the price at which the property ma,y be purcha.sed. is at the total
amount of $4,000.00, a fair and reasonable price according to the appraisal
obtained by the Committee on La.nds; and
WHE�tEAS, Said Comm�ittee has recommended the purchase of said property at the
price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitt�d
here�with; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303,of the Charter of the City of Saint - ,
Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Pa.ul does hereby authorize the purehase
of the land described as:

addition to St. Pa.ul (Note; includes Blocks 1-12) which lie

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Pa.ul, acting through its Valua.tion Engineer, has negotiated
to purchase certain property described as follaws:
Those parts of Lots 9 and 10, Block 3, in Whitney & Smiths
addition to St. Paul (Note: includes Bloeks 1-12) whieh lie
westerly of the following described line:
Beginnin� at a point on the southwest line of said Lot 9,
18.85 feet northerly from the southwest corner of said Lot 9;
thence along a strai�ht line to a point on the northwest line
of said Lot 10, 11 feet easterly f�am the northwest corner of
said Lot 10 and there termina.ting.
The owner of the above described land, Westview, Inc., ha.s accepted an offer
tendered by the City in the amount of $4,000.00 as compensation for the sale
of the said land to the City.
This property is needed by the City of Saint Paul for the widening of
Wacouta Street. In view of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased,
said price being the appraised fair and reasonable ma.rket value thereof, we
the Commtittee on I,ands, do recammnend to the Council of the City of Saint
Pa.ul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation
proceedings at the price of �4,000.00 as negotiated with the owner.
