PAUL �OENCIL NO. ; OFFI OF THE CITY CLERK C ES� UTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY CO M M I55I ON E DATF r WHEREAS, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the Purchasing Agent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Commissioner of Public Safety of the City of Saint Paul, has secured an agreement for the purchase of that certain property described as follows: The North 40 feet of the South 280 feet of the East 156 feet of the Southeast u of Section 34, Township 29, Range 22, subject to White Bear Avenue, and the North 60 feet of the South 240 feet of the East 156 feet of the SE µ of Section 34, Township 29, Range 22, subject to White Bear Ave; and WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the site of the new Fire Station No. 24, and the price at which the property may be purchased is at the total amount of $23,500.00, a fair and reasonable price according to the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase of said property at the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the purchase of the lands described as: The North 40 feet of the South 280 feet of the East 156 feet of the Southeast µ of Section 34, Township 29, Range 22, subject to White Bear Avenue, and the North 60 feet of the South 240 feet of the East 156 feet of the SE µ of Section 34, Township 29, Range 22, subject to White Bear Ave; and RESOLVED FURTHER, That the proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed to pay to Vernon R. Colon and Martin F. Colon, owners, the sum of $23,500.00, said sum to be paid to the aforesaid vendors, from PIR Fund Code 6000, to be reimbursed from Fund 9167-501-003, upon their furnishing evidence of good marketable title in the aforesaid vendors, and total payment to be made upon tender by said parties of appropriate deeds conveying title to said property to the City of Saint Paul. Colon and Martin F. Colon, have accepted an offer tendered by the City in the amount of $23,500.00 as compensation for the sale of the said land to the City. This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the City of Saint Paul for the site of new Fire Station No. 24. In view of the reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price being the appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we, the Committee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the City of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu of condem- nation proceedings at the price of $23,500.00 as negotiated with the owners.
