04-1137�� /�� RESOLUTION CITY OF SAINT PAUL, MINNESOTA Presented Refeaed To Council F}le # ��— �/� � Green Sheet # � ��`� �� Committee Date Support Technical Amendment to Treat Several TIF' Districts as "Distinct" TIF' Districts WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul believes that Tax Increment Financing is an important development tool that aids in the planning and development of projects within the City; and 3 WfIEREAS, revenue is allocated based upon district wide calculations and when debt has been issued; and 4 WHEREAS, allocation issues are problematic because tax increments from specific projects within the district are 5 dedicated to specific debt instruments, and the taY increments are identified per the entire district; and WHEREAS, a technical TIF amendment that treats several Saint Paul TIF Districts which have multiple projects in the same TIF district as "distinct" TIF districts would remedy this situation and would also help Ramsey County who is charged with overseeing this effort; and 9 WI�REAS, the Saint Paul City Council is the policy making body for the City of Saint Paul, and as such, its work 10 is inextricably linked to the City's L.egislative Agenda; now therefore be it 11 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul supports and urges legislative passage of: 12 13 A technical amendment to treat several Saint Paul TIF Districts which have multiple projects in the same 14 TIF district as "distincY' TIF districts.
