WHEREAS, The Gity of Saint Paul acquired the fee simple
title to Lots 1 , 2, 3, 4 an.d 5, Middents Rearrangement of
Lots 1 and 2 of Block 29 of Lafond' s Addition to Saint Paul,
for the opening and widening of Marion Street from University
Avenue to Como Aven.ue, and the Department of Public Works
reports that a portion of the said lots are excess to the
needs of the Gity for street purposes; and
WHEREAS, The Department of Parks and Recreation and
Public Buildings requests the transfer of the excess portion
of the said lots from Public Works for the purpose of
expanding the Scheffer Playground, and the Committee on Lands
concurs in this request; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Gouncil of the City of Saint Paul
does hereby transfer the following real estate to the
jurisdiction of the Department of Parks and Recreation and
Public Buildings for playground and recreation purposes:
Those parts of Lots l, 2, 3, 4 and
5, Middents Rearrangement of Lots 1
and 2 of Block 29 of Lafond' s Addition
to Saint Paul, lying westerly of the
following described line: Beginning
at the intersection of the east line
of Marion Street and the south line of
Thomas Avenue; thence westerly along
the said south line of Thomas Avenue a
distance of 114 feet; to the point of
beginning of the line to be described;
FOR APPRO thence northerly parallel to the said
east line of Marion Street a distance

along a circular arc, tangent to the
last described line with a radius of
399 feet to the south line of said
