This is not in conformance with Ordinance No. 6446 which indicates that 86. 5% of this differential should be added. This is the reason for these submitted changes and we ask that your honorable body consider these new indicated rates when determining the new rates for the above specified positions. The ordinance further provides that thereafter the Council shall set a public hearing for the purpose of reviewing existent wage rates, which hearing shall be not less than ten days nor more than twenty days after such public notice as the Council may deem necessary. After such hearing the Council shall, by resolution, determine appropriate hourly rates for the indicated positions. This listing was further amended by a letter dated June 24, 1969 which indicated certain changes in the indicated rates for foreman positions. We also recommend that, if the Council requests further study regarding the four above-mentioned classes of position, the resolution which will provide for fncreases for the other positions also include a provision that any increases which result from this study and negotiation become retroactive to June 28, 19b9, which date would be the effective date of the granting of increases to all of the other classes other than the above-mentioned four classes in the Lighting Department.
