S, The Committee on Lands, composed of the Mayor, the purchasing
Agent, the Commissioner of Finance, and the Commissioner of Parks, Recreation,
and Public Buildings, of the City of Saint Paul, has secured an agreement for
the purchase of that certain property described as follows:
Lot ten (10) , Collins Subdivision of Lots 8 and 9 of Irvine's
Addition of Outlots to the City of St. Paul, acc. ,
and
WHEREAS, The property described therein is necessary for the proposed
Collins-DeSoto Playground, and the price at which the property may be
puxchased is at the total amount of $49,000.00, a fair and reasonable price
according to the appraisal obtained by the Committee on Lands; and
WHEREAS, Said Committee has recommended the purchase �of said property
at,,the price stated above, as evidenced by the letter of said Committee
submitted herewith; now, therefore, be it ,
,
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Section 303 of the Charter of the City of
Saint Paul, the Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the ,
purchase of the land described as:

Addition of Outlots to the City of St. Paul, acc. , '
RESOLVED FURTHER That the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and directed to pay to Edker H. and Jean R. Cherrier, and Galus C. Hofacker,
vendors of said property, the sum of $49,000.00, said sum to be paid to the
aforesaid vendors from Fund 9768-501-001, upon their fuxnishing evidence of
good marketable title in the aforesaid vendors, and the total payment to be
made upon tender by said parties of appropriate deeds conveying title to
said property to the City of Saint Paul.

Gentlemen:
The City of Saint Paul, acting through its Valuation Engineer, has
negotiated to purchase certain property described as follows:
Lot ten (10) , Collins Subdivision of Lots 8 and 9 af
Irvine's Addition of Outlots to the City of St. Paul, acc.
The owners of the above described land, Edker H. and Jean R. Cherrier,
have accepted an offer tendered by the City in the amount of $49,000.00
as compensation for the sale of the said land to the City.
This property, including land and buildings, is needed by the City of
Saint Paul for the proposed Collins-DeSoto Playground. In view of the
reasonable price for which it can be purchased, said price being the
appraised fair and reasonable market value thereof, we, the Committee
on Lands, do recommend to the Council o� the City of Saint Paul that it
authorize the purchase of said land in lieu of condemnation proceedings
at the price of $49,000.00 as negotiated with the owner.
