WHEREAS, The Couneil ot the City of Saint Paul, by
resolution, Council File 237406, approved March 5, 1968, did
vacate a portion of the east-west alley in Block l, Wifelburg
Hills, said vacation reserving to the City of Saint Paul and
other public instrumentalities the public utility easements
contained therein and th�reon; and
WHEREAS, Howard Gelb has requested that the Council waive
said retained easements, and the affected City departments,
�Torthern States Power Company and Northw��tern Bell Telephone
Company have filed written certificates of intended no�-u�e af
reserved rights and easements, which certific$tes are attached
hereto; be it
RESOLVED, �hat the Couneil of the City of Saint Paul, pur�uant
to Section 228.05 of the Saint Paul Legislative Code, as amended,
doe� hereby waive the retained easements contained in resolution,
Council File 237406, approved March 5, 1968, in the following
described property:
All the east-west alley in Block 1, Wifelburg Hills;
and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the above-mentioned waiver of said
easements is for the City of Saint Paul and for those persons for
whom the City has reserved easements in �aid vacated property for
the installation, maintenance and operation of any sewer, water, gas
or electrical main, pipe or conduit of public instrtunentality.

Use for portions of the alley in the above block whichhas been
executed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and Northern
States Power Company.
Please have the departments of Public Works, Utilities,
and Water sign the certificate and have it approved by your
department and then transmit to me the executed certificate to-
gether with the Counsel File Number of the vacation resolution
and the correct description of that part of the alley to be
release.
This matter is of extreme urgency to Mr. Howard Gelb in the
construction of this land. We shall appreciate your expediting
