Marshall: This is written in response to ttie application of Bethesda Hospital for a permit to install a 53-car parking lot on property located on the east side of Pax�k Avenue between Charles and Sherburne Avenues. This property is further described as Lots 2, 3, and 4, Block 6, Brewster's Addition. This matter was considered at the August 21, 1969 Board of Zonin� meeting. The staff reported that this applic,ation requests an enlargement of an exist- ing parking lot whic.h was approved in 1968. It was noted that plans meet required design standards and have the approval of the Traffic Engineer. Consequently, the Board of Zoning recommends �pproval of this applic,ation by a 5 - 0 vote. Mr, Ryan samasrized the staff report stating the ares to the north and east is aoued "C" Reaideace; the area to the south is zoned Co�ercial; and the area weat across Park Street ia zoned Light Industry. The parking lot plan meets deaiga stsndards end has the Traffic 8ngineer's approval, The entire lot will draia to the street and existing on site catch basins. Frontage of 160 feet along Park Street and an area of 24,000 square feet exist. Parking for hoapital employees and visitors is critical in the area. A representstive from the hospital appeared, snd there was no opposition. Mr, Gadler �ved for approval of the permit, which was seconded by Hr. Maietta, and carried unaaimously.
