WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul has been
informed of the proposed discontinuanae of Chicago, Burlington
and Quincy Railroad Company passenger trains Nos. 51-52 between
Minneapolis and Chicago pursuant to petition therefo� filed by
said railroad company with the Interstate Comtnerce Commission;
and
WHEREAS, this Council feels that granting ot such relief
by the Interstate Commerce Commission to said railroad company
would be contrary to the interests of the citiZens o� the City
of Saint Paul and of the citizens of the metropolitan area
generally; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to the provisions of the Interstate
Commerce Act, and in response to the aforesaid information relative
to the petition for digcontinuance of the aforesaid passenger trains,
the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby protests to the Inter-
state Commerce Commission against the relief requested by the Chicago,
Burlington and Quincy Railroad Company relative to discontinuanee of
passenger trains Nos. 51-52 between Minneapoli� and Chicago, and
asserts that the gran�ing of such relief would be contrary to public
convenience and necessity and contrary to the interests of the citizens
of this City; and be it
� FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Council hereby requests the Inter-
� state Commerce Commission to set the aforesaid matter for hearing at
� appropriate places within the State of Minnesota; and be it

� Vo FINALLY RESOLVED, Tha� the City Clerk is authorized and directed
o to transmit forthwith copies of this Resolution to the Tnterstate
