��- �`' EA , the Council of the City of Saint Paul has been informed
o ��h proposed discontinuance of Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and
Pacific Railroad Company passenger trains Nos. 2 and 3 between
Chicago, Illinois and Minneapolis, Minnesota, pursuant to petition
therefor filed by said railway company with the Interstate Commerce
Commission; and
WIiEREAS, this Council �eels that granting of such relief by
the Interstate Commerce Commission to said railway company would
be contrary to the interests of the citizens of the City of Saint
Paul and of the citizens of the metropolitan area generally,
Now, Therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to the provisions of the Interstate
Commerce Act, and in response to the aforesaid information relative
to the petition for discontinuance of the aforesaid passenger trains,
the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby protests to the Inter-
state Commerce Commission against the relief requested by the Chicago,
Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Company relative to dis-
continuance of passenger trains Nos. 2 and 3, and asserts that
the granting of such relief would be contrary to public convenience
and necessity and contrary to the interests of the citizens of this
City; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Council hereby requests the Inter-
state Commerce Commission to set the aforesaid matter for hearing
at appropriate places within the State of Minnesota; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, That the City Clerk is authorized and directed
to transmit forthwith copies of this Resolution to the Interstate
Commerce Commission and to the Public Service Commission of the
State of Minnesota.
