WHEREAS, Gurrent zoning districts and regulations in
portions of the Merriam Park area may be in conflict with
current land uses an.d may be contrary to accepted planning
principles; and
WHEREAS, The Merriam Park Communi�y Council ,
Incorporated has requested the City of Saint Paul to correct
various zoning incongruities amending district boundaries on
the basis of a Planning Board survey of an area of not less
than forty acres; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, By the Council of the City of Saint Paul,
that the Plan.ning- Board is directed to conduct a survey
pursuant to Section 64.06 of the Legislative Zoning Code
of that area of the City of Saint Paul included within the
following described line:
Beginning at the point of intersection of
the centerline of Snelling Avenue with the
centerline of Portland Avenue north along
the centerline of Snelling Avenue to the
extension of the centerline of the east—west
alley in Block 4, Brightwood Park; thence
°� west along the centerline of the alley in
Blocks 3 and 4, Brigh�wood Park to the
centerline of Aldine Street; thence south
along the centerline of Aldin�e Street to
the centerline of University Au�nue; thence
west and northwesterly along the centerline

Dear Mr. Duckstad:
Enclosed is the text for a resolution to institute a 40-acre
study in the Merriam Park area. The boundaries are those
generally shown on the Merriam Park Community Council map.
I have also discussed these boundaries with Doug Kelm and
the boundaries are what he had in mind. Our objective in
choosing the boundary lines was to go down the centerline of
streets or alleys so as to not split individual properties.
If you have any questions, feel free to call either poug Kelm
or myself.
