COMMISSIONE DAT� WHEREA5, three courageous Ainericans, astronauts Neil Arn�strong, Edwin Aldrin and Michael Collins, are now on their way to achieving the most significant technological and scientific breakthrough of all time, the landin.g of man on the moon; and WHEREAS, the successful completion ot this mission by these heroic men, as made possible by the monumental efforts of numerous other men of like courage and devotion in the space program of the Una.ted States of Araerica, wi11 add immeasurably to human knowledge and be of immense futere benefit to a1Z mankind; and WFiEREAS, this is a time when all men on this planet earth should make prayerful and solemn observance not only of man' s realized potential but also of his s�r.allness and his oneness in this great u,-�iverse; and WHEREAS, President Richard M. Nixon has called for a day of public recognitian ot thzs great and unprec�dented accomplishment; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul wishes to join with the Presiden� anc� al�.
