WAEREAS, the City contributes to various State pension plans required by State Statute and
other pension plans required by bargaining unit contracts, and
WHEREAS, the City cannot contribute funds to the Public Employee Retirement Associafion
(PERA) for a Ciry employee who is not a United States citizen, and
WHEREAS, past Library Directors received a Ciry contribution to PERA, and
WHEREAS, to be consistent with the level of contributions for all other non-elected City
employees, the Ciry should contribute the Ciry's portion of the PERA pension to another
retirement account on behalf of the Library Directory, now therefore be it
9 RESOLVED, that the City's share of contribution that would have been paid to PERA on
10 behalf of the Library Director be paid to the City's Deferred Compensation Plan on a quarterly
11 basis commencing calendar year 2003 and continue for so long as this individual is an
12 employee of the City.
