WIiEREAS, A. Russell Hansen retired from the City� s
service on March 31, 1970, after a long and distinguished
career as the Director of Auditorium and Stadia; and
WHEREAS� A. Russell Hansen began his career with the
city on December 28, 1931, in custodial work at the Auditorium,
rose to the position of Deputy Director of the Auditorium on
August 1, 1942, and was appointed Director of Auditorium and
Stadia on July 1, 1964; and
WHEREAS, during his long and meritorious career with
the Gity, Mr. Hansen was engaged in many and various civic
functions� devoted to the welfare and well being of all the
citizens of this community, and his contributions to civic
affairs and community projects and developments in the
interests of the City of Saint Paul were considerable ;
and
WfiEREAS, after his retirement as Director of Auditorium
and Stadia he has rendered invaluable service to the new
Civic Center Authority in the development of the new Civic
Center; and

WI3EREAS� the Council of the City of Saint Paul desires
to express its gratitude for all the many services said A.

a� p on behalf of each of its members and on behalf of the citizens
� m of this community� hereby extends to said A. Russell Hansen

� service to the City of Saint Paul and its citizens� and its
� best wishes on his retirement from public service ; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED� That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to transmit a copy of this Resolution to said A. Russell Hansen.
