NOTES OF THE LEGISLATIVE HEARINCT
LETTERS OF DEFICIENCY, CORRECTION NOTICES, AND CORRECTION ORDERS
Tuesday, September 9, 2003
Room 330 Ci1y Ha11,15 West Kellogg Boulevard
Mazcia Moetmond, Legislative Hearing Officer
The hearing was called to order at 130 p.m.
STAFF PRESENT: Michael Urnann, Fire Prevenrion
565 Kent Street
Michael Urmann reported that he and the appellant (Steve Balej, owner) came to an
understanding. The property is in code compliance now. The inspector made a mistake in
interpreting the. code. The orders should not have been issued, and they haue been withdrawn.
Ms. Moermond said that the owner should get a refund of his $25 filing fee.
345 Wabasha Street North
Michael Urmann reported that the owner is only doing cosmetic changes. Mr. Urmann is willing
to accept the doors in place. This building has so many doors, that replacing a11 of them would
be cost prohibitive.
Marcia Moermond granted the appeal on the nonconforming doors on the following conditions:
1) If the nonconforming doors ever need to be replaced, they will be replaced with conforming
fire rated door assemblies, 2) The building will otherwise be maintained in compliance with a11
applicable codes and ordinances.
The hearing was adjourned at 137 p.m.
