WHEREAS, the City of St. Paul intends to submit an applica-
tion for a federal grant to acquire certain lands for the Prosperity Park
Park Site purposes, as shown on the attached plan; and
WHEREAS, A public hearing having been had upon the above
improvement upon due notice, and the Council having heard all persons,
objections, and recommendations relative thereto, and having fully con-
sidered the same:
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
St. Paul that the proper City Officials are hereby authorized and directed
to proceed with the action necessary to acquire for park site purposes
those certain lands as shown on the attached plan.

Dear Commissioner:
The proposed development of Prosperit�rPa�k will certainly
benefit many citizens in the area anc��`certainly commend thia
action. It does, however, create a small problem for me which
I wish you would consider in these formative stages.
My property at 1596 E. Ivy Ave. bordera the proposed park
property on the west at the nor�hern ed�e of the proposed park.
Since I have owned the property, I have had access to the rear
of the property for parking the car by using about ten feet of
land directly east of my lot, Wi.th the verbal consent of the �
owner. This problem is especially important because Ivy Ave.
is a snow emergency route.
Should this proposed �ark plan be approved I request that
an easement be granted me �or a ten foot strip along the
eastern edge of my property. This would continue the �vaila-
bility of off street parking.

lands for the purpose of developing the Prosperity Park-Park Site.
The lands being considered for acquisition are shown colored red
on the attached plan.

10;00 a.m. on July 2, 1970, at which ti�e the City Council will

The Sackett l�emorial Park Booster Club at a meeting held l�onday, June 29,
wtanimousl,y passed the following resolution:
Resolved: The Sa.ckett N�emorial Park Booster Club snpports the Gity of
St. Faul in the acquistion of certain lands for the purpose
of developing the Prosperity Park - Park Site located bet�reen
HaZelwood and Kennard Avenues and north of Maryland Avenue.
There is a high density of apartment buildings under construction in this
area th�►t are intendsd for low to moderate income families. The Hazelw�ood
apart�ne�ts complex is also located iri the vicini.ty nearby. We believ�
an open space park site as planned w�ould be very adva.ntageous and be a
link to Prosperity Playground.
7n this age oY hi�h density apart,ment dWellers t�sre is far too little
green open space areas left for people to en�oy. Therefore, �re certa3nly
hope the city will be able to acquire this land for the development oF
a park area.
