RESOLVED, That upon recommendations of the Land Committee and pursuant
to declaration of excess made by the Commissioner of Public Works, the
Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby direct the sale of the City
of St. Paul's ir.terest in the following described real property subject to
reservation of easements set forth herein. Said sale to be on the basis of
a request for proposals as authorized in Section 87A.01 (5� of the St. Pau1
Legislative Code:
"The southwesterly one-half of St. Peter Street lying between
the northerly and southerly lines extended easterly of Lot l,
Block 20, Rice and Irvine's Addition �o Saint Fa.u1, except
that triangular portion thereof described as follows;
Beginning at the �oint of intersection of the centerline of
St. Peter Street and the extended southerly line of Lot l,
Block 20, Rice and Irvine's Addition to Saint Paul; thence
westerly along said extended southerly line of Lot l, a
distance of 13-0 feet to a point; thence northeasterly alon�
a straight line te a point cn the centerline of St. Peter
Street 13•5 feet distant northwesterl;� of point of beginning;
thence southe�sterly alcng said centerline of St. Peter
Street a distance of 13.5 feet to the point ef beginning."
subjec+ to the following terms and conditions:
l. That a specific easement be retained to protect the existing
Northern States Power Company's gas service.
2. That the purchaser, its heirs and assignees shall not
disturb the portion of St. Peter Street vacated and
sold by the City or develop and�or construct new im-
provements �hereor� or make any structural modifications
to the existing building, unless they adequately pro�ride
for the lateral support of the adjacent land, public
improvements and structures, all to the satisfaction of
the Commissioner of Public Works and in a manner approved
by the Commissioner of Public Works.

City of St. Pa.ul for the operation and maintenance of the
existing sewers now located within the portion of St. Peter
Street described above; said easement will be between
Elevation 93 and minus 5, Citf of Saint Paul datum.
BL IT FURT?�ER RESOLVED, That the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized
and directed to broceed with the sale and advertisement of the above
described real estate in the manner set forth in said Section 87A.01 (5)
and to do all acts necessary therefore.

WflEREAS The Board of Ramsey County Commissioners in session on June 29, 1970
(File 2059, Res.��9-180) determined that the interests of Ramsey County in certain
real estate generally described �as the westerly one-half of St. Peter Street,
southerly of the southerly line of Kellogg Boulevard, are surplus to the needs
of the county and
- "-�"WREREAS Pursuant to notice calling for"proposals, the West Publishing Company
has submitted an offer to purchase Ramsey County's interests in said real estate
far the sum of $4,378.00, having submitted with their proposal the Company's
Certffied Check in the amount of $437.80, Now, Therefore Be It
- RESOL�IED That the Board of Ramsey County Commissioners, subject to the approval
of the County Attorney, and any qualifications which he may impose, accepts the
aforesaid offer of the West Publishing Company to purchase Ramsey County's fnteresC
in the following described real estate.

veying the county's interes[s in said real estate to the West Publishing Company
and canditioned upon the qualifications determined by the County Attorney, including
the conditian that the aforesaid west'erly one-half of St. Peter Street is vacated by
the Council for the City of St. Paul, and that the West Publishing Company is suc-
cessful in purchasing all rights of the City of St. Paul in said westeXly ona-half
af 5t. Peter Street.
