1 WHEREAS,the City of Saint Paul has applied for a State of Minnesota
2 Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Federal Recreational Trail Grant
3 for construction of a trail to connect Lowertown with Indian Mounds
4 Regional Park and Bruce Vento Regional Trail, and
5 WHEREAS, the State DNR has notified the City that it will receive a
6 matching grant for a trail connecting Lowertown to Indian Mounds Regional
7 Park and the Bruce Vento Regional Trail in the amount of $100,000.00 and
8 WHEREAS, said grant will contribute to the matching funds needed for
9 the City's TEA-21 grant for this project,
10 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the proper City
11 Officials are hereby authorized to execute such agreement with the State
12 of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources as is necessary to accept
13 said DNR trail grant and implement the trail project and,

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation is
hereby authorized to serve as the fiscal agent for the trail project, and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon completion, the trail project will be
maintained by the City of Saint Paul, and
18 FINALLY RESOLVED, that upon receipt of said grant agreement the City
19 Council shall receive a Capital Improvement Budget resolution containing
20 the recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital
21 Improvement Budget Committee for approval and adoption.
