WHEREAS, such relocation will result in the Board having no further need of the
Property for maintenance, construction, improvement or operation of the Boazd's water
works system.
WHEREAS, the Property was purchased with Board funds and tide to the Property is in
the name of the City of Saint Paul for benefit of the Board, and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to have title to the Properiy in its name so that the Boazd
can proceed with disposal of the Property by sale to Concordia College, for purposes of
expanding its adjacent educational facilities, following approval by the assistant city
attorney of a purchase agreement and satisfaction of all terms and conditions of said
agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Board willuse the proceeds of the sale for purposes of the relocation of
its Distribution Division and for the purposes of Chapter ll0, Special Laws of the State
of Minnesota for 1885, namely, to provide pure and wholesome water to the citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Board did adopt Resolution No. 4852 which did declare the Property to
be surplus, did request that the City Council likewise declare the Property to be surplus,
and did also request that the City quitclaun any and all interests it may hold in said
Property in favor of the Board of Water Commissioners; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Honorable Council of the City of Saint Paul does hereby declare
the Property to be surplus; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby directed to execute a
quitclaim deed which shall quit the City's interest in the Property in favor of the Board of
Water Commissioners.

Plans are being prepared for the construction of new Distribution Division facilities at the Board's McCarrons
campus in Maplewood. The Board intends to sell its Hamline Storeyard property, which is the current location
of its Distribution Division; to Concordia College. The property was purchased with Board funds and tifle is held
in tfie name of the City for benefit of fhe Board. The property must be declared surplus and title to it must be
transferred from the City to the Board so the Board before the Board can sell the property to Concordia College.
ADVANTAGESIFAPPROVED:
The Board can proceed with disposi�g of its Hamline Storeyard property and use the funds for relocation of its
Distribution Division to its McCarrons campus.
