1 WI IEREAS, Mrs. Mary Haxniiton was born in the City of Saint Paul on August 12,1903 and has lived and worked
2 her whole life in Saint Paul; and
3 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hamilton was the oldest of seven children, the Mother of five children and the Grandmother,
4 Great Crrandmother and Great Great Grandmother of eighty children; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hamilton is a member of St. Peter Claver Church since 1915, a church that will be able to
celebrate nine members 100 ar older as of Mrs. Hamilton's birthday on August 12, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Hamilton had a celebrated career working far Crriggs and Cooper, Western Electric, The
Telephone Company and also owned her own business at 740 Rondo called " The Cafe Mari Sweet Shop"; and
9 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul City Council wishes to recognize the wisdom, strength and courage of the elders
10 in our community; now therefore be it
11 RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul City Council does hereby proclaim August 12, 2003 to be Mrs. Mary
12 Hamilton Day in the City of Saint Paul to recognize her 100th Birthday.
