WHEREAS, the Civic Center Commission, under the authority of
Chapter 459, Laws of Minnesota for 1g6'7, has recommended that the
City Council authorize the final plans for the New Arena for the
Civic Center; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, pursuant to
resolution, Council File No. 2346g1, approved August 17, 1g67,
authorized and directed the proper City officials to enter into and
execute on behalf of the City of Saint Paul the Architectural Service
Agreement between Convention Center Architects and Engineers, Inc. ,
and the City of Saint Paul , executed the 25th day of August, 1967;
and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, pursuant to
resolution of Council, Council File No. 238977, June 7, 1968, approved
planning documents submitted by Convention Center Architects and
Engineers, Inc. , as the basis for detailed planning of the New Arena
for the Civic Center dated February 10, 1968; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the Gity of Saint Paul, pursuant to
resolution of the Couneil, Council File No. 239824, approved August 14,
1968, directed the proper City officials to execute Addendum B of
said Agreement authoxizing Convention Center Architects and Engineers,
Inc. to proceed with the final plan preparation for the construction
of the New Arena for the Civic Center, as provided in Comptroller' s
Agreement No. 1820; and
WHEREAS, the Civic Center Authority, as successor to the Civic
Center Commission, by resolution dated October 22, 1969, approved
the execution of the first amendment to Addendum B providing for
compensation to Convention Center Architects and Engineers, Inc.
for services rendered; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized
and directed to execute the first amendment to Addendum B to the
Agreement dated August 25, 1967, a copy of which is attached hereto
and incorporated hereby, by and between Convention Center Architects

ARCHITECTURAL SEI�VICE AGREEMENT
FIRST AMENDMENT TO ADDENDUM B
The following amendments or additions are hereby made to
Addendum B to the Architectural Service Agreement dated August 25 ,
1g67 , between Convention Center Archi�tects and Engineers, Inc. ,
the City of Saint Paul , Minnesota, and the Civic Center Authority:
1. The third paragraph of Addendum B is amended in its
entirety to read as follows:
"The maximum amount due said Associate Architect
for these services prior to award of contract shall
be Three Hundred Seventy-five Thousand, Eight
Hundred Fourteen and 35/l0o Dollars (�375 , 814. 35) ,
which sum shall apply against ']5� of the total
sum which may become due said Associate Architect
with respect to the construction of the New Arena
for Civic Center. "
2. The Ni.nth na.ragraph of Addendum B is amended in its
entirety to read as follows :
"The above sum of Three Hundred Seventy-five Thousand,
Eight Hundred Fourteen and 35�100 Dollars (�375 , 814. 35)
shall be the amount due said architect for the
services as provided herein and as required under
the �terms of that agreement dated August 25, 1967 ,
including those services required to be rendered
up to the time of the receipt and the opening of
bids. Said amount shall be paid monthly for the
services performed in proportion to the services
which are necessary to complete the final plans. "
3. The City of Saint Paul , the Civic Center Authority and
Associate Architect acknowledge that to the date hereof Associate
Architect has been paid the sum of Two Hundred Ninety-seven Thousand
Six Hundred Seventy-two and '75�100 Dollars (�29'7 ,6'72. '75) with respect
to its services on said Sub-project (2) and that the Associate
Architect is now entitled to payment of the sum of Seventy-eight
Thousand One Hundred Forty-one and 60�100 Dollars (�'78, 141 . 60) . �

4. Said Associate Architect, the City of Saint Paul and
the Civi,c Center Authority hereby agree to the above terms and �
conditions notwithstanding any language to the contrary in any
former agreements , specifically that Architectural Service Agreement
dated August 25, 1967 , between Convention Center Architects and
Engineers, Inc. , and the City of Saint Paul .
