Dear Mr. Marshall:
This is written in response to the application for a permit to install a drive-in
bank window by the Summit National Bank on property located on the southeast corner of
Marion Street and University Avenue. This property is further described as:

Except the north 20 feet for Avenue, Lots 6 and 7, and
Section 7, Block 1, Florence Addition. . '
The Board of Zoning heard this matter at its regular meeting on December 18, 1969.
The staff report presented to the Board noted that the Summit National Bank was granted
permits for a 39-car parking lot in 1962 and a drive-in teller window and an increase in
the size of the parking lot in 1963. The requested permit for a new drive-up window is
on the site of a vacant filling station anc� is separated from the bank by a public alley.
A letter from the Traffic Engineer was read to the Board, pointing out potential problems
that could arise if the submitted plan was followed and suggested changes that would
eliminate these conditions.
The applicant was not represented at the meeting.
The Board of Zoning discussed the applicant's plan and subsequently moved to
recommend approval, subject to the recommendations of the Traffic Engineer and the
staff. The motion carried by a 5-0 vote.
Revised plans received Januaryf-16, 1970, incorporate the Traffic Engineer's
recommendations.

University Avenue.
N:r. Sorenson summsrized rhe staff report stating that a permit was issued to
remodel an existing filling station on the southeast corner of University Aveaue
and P3arion Street on December 3, 1966. A permit for a 39-car parking lot on the
northeast corner of r�arion Street and Aurora Avenue was granted on September 15,
1962. A drive-in bank and 62-car parking lot was granted a permit on February 2,
1963, on the same site. Mr. Sorenson read ta Ietter from the Traffic Engineer
noting potenti�l problems and showed pictures of Che aite.
No one representing the applicant was present at the meeting.
Mr. Gauger moved for approvas of Che applicetion, sub�ect to the staff's and
Traffic Engineer's recounneadationa. Mr. Maietta secon�2ed the motion, which
carried unanimously. �
