WHEREAS, it appears necessary and desirable for the
Citq of Saint Paul to establish as soon as possible an automated
computer-based integrated information and serviees syste�a to
serve the needs and requirements of the �ity with respect to its
Criminal Justice Program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has proWided, through
its usual budgetary procedures , for the financing of a portion �
of the eost of research and development of s�lected phases of v
such an information and services syst�m; and z

WHEREAS , the Congress of the United States , pursuant to W �
the provisions of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets o
Aet of 1968 , has established a program for providing, among oth�r a Q
things , finaneial assistance to local governmer�t bodies through ¢ o
application for funds to be filed with the appropriate state � �
agencies ; and o 0

WHEREAS , the State of Minnesota has desi�nated the
Governor's Cri�aae Co�ua.i.�sion, under the chair�anship of the
Attorney 6eneral, as the appropriate state ageney to receive
applications for financial assistance from local g.overnmental
units ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has determined that the
approxir�ate cost of analyzing and developing certain portion� of
a criminal justiee information system will be in the anount of
One Hundred Ninety-three Thousand and Fifteen dollars ($193,O1S) ;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Couneil of the City of Saint Paul, that
application be and is hereby made to the Gowerncr's Crime Commission
of t�e State of Minnesota for a grant in the amount of Seventq-seven
Thousand Two Hundred and Six dollars ($77 ,�06) for research,

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Honorable Charles P. MeCarty,
Mayor of the City of Saint Paul, is hereby authorized to execute,
on behalf of said Citq, the r�quisite fcrms for the Citq's
aforesaid application for funds to the Governor's Cri�oe Commission,
copies of such forms being hereto attached, marked "Exhibit A" ,
and incorporated herein by refe�►ence as fully and as completely
as if set forth herein verbatim.
