WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 3250 authorizes and provides
for payment for overtime work, and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has
authorized overtime work in his department during the
period from Sept.i9 to Oct. 2, 1970: therefore be it
RESOIVED, that the proper City Officers are hereby
authorized to pay the employees who performed such overtime
work in accordance with the provisions of Ordinances
No. 6446 and No. 3250.

WHEREAS, The City Council Committee on La.nds ha.s considered
the matter and does recommend that the City agree to purcha.se and
sha.11 purcha.se a portion of Lot 6, Block 3, Hoyt' s Addition to St.
Paul, for the mutua.11y-agreed upon consideration of $12, 150.00,
subject to the terms and conditions to be contained in the Agreement
to Purchase; and
WHEREAS, The Council_ of the City of Saint Paul concurs in the
recommendation of its Committee on La.nds; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, Tha.t the proper City officers are hereby authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Saint Paul Agreement
to Purcha.se tha.t part of Lot 6, Block 3, Hoyt' s Addition to St. Paul,
bounded by the following described lines:
Beginning at the most easterly corner of said
Lot 6; thence southwesterly along tl�e South-
easterly line of said Lot 6 a distance of 18.0
feet; thence in a Northwesterly direction along
a straight line to a point on the Northeasterly
line of said Lot 6, 130 feet Northwesterly of
the point of beginning; thence southeasterly
along the Northeasterly line of said Lot 6 a
distance of 130 feet to the point of beginning,
for the consideration of $12, 150.00, subject to the conditions con-
tained in said Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein by reference; and, be it �'

Gentlemen and Mada�: �
The Land Con�ittee of the City of St. Pa.ul has receiv�d. and reviewed in
detail the proposal to aequire certain lands necessary to the widening
of Wacouta Street at Eighth Street, by direct aegotiation.
The land, under discussion, is a portion of Lot 6, Block 3, Hoyt's Ad-
dition to St. Paul, a.nd is presently available to the City's needs, und�r
terms and conditions whieh Y�ave been approved by the Department of Public
Works and recommended by the Valuation Engineer.
It is,therefore, the recom�aendation of the Land Com�itte� tha.t the City '
of St. Pa.ul agree to purchase that part of Lot 6, Block 3, Hoyt's Addition
to St. Paul bounded by the followin� described lines:
Beginning at the mos� easterly corner of said Lot 6; thence
southwesterly along the South easterly line of said yot 6 a
distance of 18.0 feet; thence in a Northwesterly direction

THIS AGREENIENT, Ma.de and entered into this day of
, 1970, by and between the CITY OI�' SAINT PAUL, here-
ina.fLer referred to as "City", and RONALD H. LINDQUIST, 227 East
Eighth Street, Saint Paul, Minnesota, hereinafter referred to as �
"Seller";
WITNESSETH:
The Easterly 53 feet of "
WHEREAS, Seller is about to purchase/Lot b, Block 3, Hoyt�s
Addition to St. Paul, and intends to wreck existing building there-
on at his own expense; and . �
WHEREAS , City is desirous of purchasing a portion of Lot 6,
Block 3, Hoyt�s Addition to St. Paul, for street purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED UPON BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY AND
SELLER AS FOLLOWS :
1. The City agrees to purchase the following-described land--
from Se11er for the mutu.ally-agreed upon consideration of the su.m
of Twelve Thousand One Hundred Fifty and no/100 Do7_lars ($12, 150. 00) .
That part of Lot 6, Block 3, Hoyt�s. kddition
. to St. Paul, bounded by the following described
lines : Beginning at the most easterly corner
of said Lot 6; thence southwesterly along the
Southeasterly line of said Lot 6 a distance of
18.0 feet; thence in a Northwesterly direction

easterly line of said Lot 6, 130 feet Northwest-
erly of the point of beginning; thence south
easterly along the Northeasterly line of said
Lot 6 a distance of 130 feet to the point of

2. The above consideration sha11 be paid to the Se11er by
the City upon delivery to the City of ma.rketable title and warranty •
deed conveying fee simple absolute title to the above-descriUed real
estate, free and clear of all encumbrances, and after the existing
building has Ueen wrecked by Seller to the satisfaction of the City.

3. Seller agrees to wreck and remove the existing building,
and further �agrees to brealc up the basement floor of the building
and areaway to the satisfaction of the City. ' .
4. The City, at its own expense, agrees to fill in that por-
tion of the land to b� acquired by the City at the City' s exgense �
and in accordance with the City' s specifications, this work to be �
coordinated with the Seller' s wrecking coni�ractor.
5. It is mutu.ally agreed upon by and between the parties
' hereto that this Agreement to Purchase shall termina.te �ao Hundred
and Forty (240) days from and after the date first above written
unless all of the provisions hereof are completed within the said
240 days . .
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The City and Seller have executed this
Agreement as of the day and year first above written.
