1 WF�REAS, the Upper Swede Hollow Neighborhoods Association has been working to
2 facilitate the renovation of Hamm Park, located on East 7`� Street and Greenbrier Avenue; and
4 WHEREAS, as part of the work, Upper Swede Hollow Neighborhoods Association has
5 offered to perform some work using volunteers and to work with a nursery contractor for the
6 remainder of the work to be done, all at no cost to the City; and

WfIEREAS, the work will be done to the specifications approved by the City and either
be performed by a licensed, insured and bonded contractor or by persons covered by liability
insurance and other appropriate insurance coverage; and
WHEREAS, Upper Swede Hollow Neighborhoods Association has also agreed to be
responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the planting beds; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the generous
donation of materials and labor from the Upper Swede Hollow Neighborhoods Association to be
used in the completion of the renovation of Hamm Park as well as the ongoing maintenance of
the planting beds and thanks the Association for their gift.

Hamm Park PmjecE Uescription
The Upper Swede H��Ilow Neighborhoods ,A,ssociation (USHNA) received a S�'Alt grant to
renovate Hamm Park on East 7`�" Street and Greenbrier Ave. Matching funds for the grant
caz�te in, tk�c form of rc.�lacing the refiaining wall along the east Side o£ the Park- Work on tk�e
retaiz�ing waII is com plete. USHNA has eoniracted with the Communzfy Desi,gn Center to
co�plete the renovation plan and to do thE work Some of the work will be completed by a
contractos, Sluebird aivrsery, afker obtaining two bids. The reazn3ndez� of fihe work will be
done bq members of Commuziity Desi,gn Center's Youth Conservaiion Corps working under
the supervisian of thc� Center's work crew supervisor and tkie Twin Ciiies Tree 7rust.

It is estimated that the work wz�l take 21 / 2 to 3 weeks to complete.
