COU CIL O UTION—GENERAL FORM PRESENTED BY COMM�SSIONE � ATF WHEREAS, the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act and the State Natural Resource Fund provides for the making of grants to assist local public bodies in the development of outdoor recreation pro�ects; and WHEREAS, the City of St. Paul desires to develop certain land known as Hidden Falls Park, which land is to be held and used for permanent open space; and WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of developing said interest will be $250,000; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the Council of the City of St. Paul that: 1. An application be made to the Office of Local and Urban Affairs of the State Planning Agency for a grant from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, as amended in 1965, in an amount presently estimated to be $125,000, and the applicant will pay the balance of the cost from other funds available to it. 2. That an application be made to the Office of Local and Urban Affairs of the State Planning Agency for a grant from the Natural Resource Fund (Chap. 879 and 1139, Minnesota Laws 1969) for an amount presently estimated to be $62,500, and the applicant will pay the balance of the cost from other funds available to it. 3. That the Commissioner of Parks and Recteation and Public Buildings is hereby authorized and directed to execute and to file such application with the State of Minnesota, Office of Local and Urban Affairs of the State Planning Agency, and to provide additional information and to furnish such documents as may be required by said Agency, and to act as the authorized correspondent of the City of St. Paul. 4. The proper city officials are authorized to execute such contracts as are required by said agency. The proposed development is in a�cordance with plans for the allocation of land for open-space uses, and that should said grant be made, the applicant will develop and retain said land for use as designated in said application, and approved by the Office of Local and Urban Affairs and the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. 6. The United States of America and the State of Minnesota be, and they hereby are, assured of full compliance by the applicant with the regulations of the Department of the Interior, effectuating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
