WHEREAS, 2he Committee on �ands, composed of the Ma.yor, the Purchasing
A�ent, the Commissioner of Public Works, and the Co�issioner of Finance of
the City of Saint Paul, has r�e�otiated an agreement for the purchase of
certain lands described as follows: •
The South one-third (5.1�3) of Lots fourteen (1�+� and fifteen (15��
also the North one-half (N.2) of the South two-thirdr (5.2�3� of
Lots fourteen (1�+) a.nd fifteen (15) in Block eigl�t (8), Foundry
Addition to St. Paul, acc. Also the North one-third (�.1�3) of
I,c>ts fourte�n (l�) a.nd fifteen (15), Block eight (8), Foundry
Addition, acc.
WHEREAS, the la.nds described therein are n�cessary for the opening arid
the widening of Dale Street, and the price at which tk�e easements may be
purchase� is at the total affio�ant of $17,000.00 a fair and reasonable price
according to the appraisal obtain�ei by the Comar�ittee on Lands; and
WHEREAS� Sai� Comnaitte� ha,�s reco�mended the purchase of said prop�rty at
the price stated above, as evidenced by the l�tter of said Committee sub-
mitted herewith; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That pursuant to Seetion 343 of the Charter of the City of
Saint Paul� the Couneil of tge Citg of Saint Paul does hereby authorize the
purchase of the lands described as;
The Sot�th one-third (5.1�3� of Lots fourteen (14) and fifteen (15�,
also the North one-half (N.2� oP the South two-third� (3.2�3) of

v Gomptroller's Contract �io. L-7263-2, to be rei�abursed frc�a 1970 MSA Fands
� " (B1013-R) upon its f�rnis�ing �videnee of good marketable title in the aforesaid
p vendor, and the total payment to be made upon tender by said p�,rt�r of appropriate
�- deeds conveying title to said land� to the City of Saint Paul.

The City of Saint Patal., acting through its Valuation Engineer, has
ne�otiated to purchase certain property described as followsz

in Block eight (8), Foundry Addition to St. Paul, acc.
Also the North one-third (H. 1�3), of Lots fourteen (1�-�
and fiFteen (15�, Block eight (8), Foundry Addition, acc.
The awner of the above described la.nds, Super America Stations, Inc.,
has accepted a.n offer tendered them by the City in the amount of
$17,000.00 as compensation for the sale of the lands to the City.
_ This property is needed by the City of Saint Paul for the widening of

Dale Street. In view of the reasonable price for which it can be pur- ��;., „�•.
chased, said price being the appraised fair and reasonable market val.ue �
therefore, we, the Ccnnmittee on Lands, do recommend to the Council of the
City of Saint Paul that it authorize the purchase of said land in lieu
of conde�anation proceedings at the price of $17,000.00, as negotiat�d.
