RE: Notice of Hearing in Condemnation Proceedings pertaining to
Hyacinth Avenue from Park 5treet to Sylvan Street (G-1735)
Gentlemen:
We are attorneys for Ann L. Gitelman, owner of the property
at 1255 Sylvan Street. Our client's property apparently abutts on
Hyacinth Avenue and is involved in the above proceedings.
Our client was not able to attend the public hearing on
June 17, 1970 at which the above project was apparently given final
approval, but she asked us to look into the matter on her behalf.
We are of the opinion that the action taken is not in our
client' s best interest and believe that the final order should be
reconsidered. We examined the petition in this matter and found
that a number of the signers do not even own property in the block
effected and that the petition lacks the requisite number of eligible
signatures to be valid. The proposed improvement would cost our
client approximately $6 ,000 .00 and would not benefit her property
in any way and she accordingly objects to the entire project as well
as the proposed condemnation proceedings.
