1 WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Police Department participated in a"May 2003 Mobilization Project"
2 though the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Tratlic Safety, to raise the national
3 awareness of seatbelt use; and

5 WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, wouid like to donate
6 5 Preliminary Breath Testers (PBTs) valued at $1,500 to the Saint Paul Police Department; and

WHEREAS, the district traflic units will use this equipment for traffic enforcement; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this equipment donation is to aid in the enforcement of impaired
driving; and
BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paul accepts this generous donation and eatends its sincere
thanks to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
