WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has reported that considerable
numbers of fire alarm boxes presently operating within the
City are not needed and are the source of many false alarms;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Fire Chief is hereby authorized and
instructed to make an annual survey of the number and location
of such fire alarm boxes and transmit to the Department of Publie
Works periodically, requests for the removal, reinstallation or
relocation of such fire alarm boxes, and the Department of Public
Works is hereby authorized and directed to comply with such requests
within a reasonable period of time.
