1 The Saint Paul Police Department is seeking endorsement to sponsor a Police Memorial Day
2 ceremony and reception on Thursday, May 15, 1997 at 12:30 p.m, at Mears Park, Sth & Sibley.
3 In case of inclement weather, the ceremony wiil he held at Galfier Plaza, directly across from the
4 park at 175 East Sth Street. This ceremony is being held in conjunction with National Police
5
6 Memorial Week, a celebration of law enforcement throughout the United States.

g The purpose of our ceremony is to honor all the Saint Paul Police officers who have given their
g lives in the line of duty. The surviving families of our officers are personally invited to share in
10 this solemn expression of reverence. This ceremony is also open to the general public.

12 The Saint Paul Police Department is requesting an ADNIIl�TISTRATIVE ORDER to allow no
13 more that $500 from account # 04000-03�z-40001 to cover the costs of refreshments, serving
14 and eating utensils, decorations and other miscellaneous eapenses.

6 Bfi IT SO ORDERED, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to pay for the above-
17 mentioned ceremony, not to exceed $500.

and reception honoring our officers who have given their lives in the line
of duty. This ceremony wi11 be held on Thursday, May 15, 1997 at Mears Park
located at Sth & Sibley. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony wi11
be held at Galtier Plaza, which is directly across zhe street at 175 E. Sth.
Tae wi11 be able to conduct the cerenony as planned, and to show homage to
the officers who h2ve been killed in the line of duty.
