1 WHEREA5 the City of Saint Paul, Division of Pazks and Recreation is pursuing national
2 accreditation as a Parks and Recreation agency from the Commission for the Accreditation of Parks and
3 Recreation Agencies (CAPRA), and;
4 WHEREAS, City Council FIle 02-661, adopted on July 24, 2002, authorized participation in the
5 accreditation process, and;

WHEREAS, a CAPRA review teamwill be visiting the City of Saint Paul, June 3-6, 2�03, to assess
the City's compliance with the 156 accreditation standazds, and;. �
WHEREAS, as part of the CAPRA site visit, receptions have been scheduled in order for the review
team to meet with representatives of the business comrrnm;ty and the partnering agencies of the Division, and;
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Riverfront Corporation and Lancer Catering have offered to sponsor
xefreshment service at separate recepAOns to be held during the CAPRA site visit, now thexefore, be it
13 RESOLVED, that the City CouncIl hereby accepts the generous contributions of the Saint Paul
14 Riverfront Corporation and Lancer Catering in providing refreshments at receptions during t]te CAPRA site visit
15 and appropriates their contribntions for that purpose, and, be it;
16 FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City CouncIl declares these receptions a public purpose where by
17 City employees and o'icials are allowed to accept invitations to these receptions in order to discuss the City's
18 Parks and Recreation system as part of the national accreditation application process.

The Division of Pazks and Recrea5on is pursuing National Accreditarion as a Parks and Recrearion agency. As one element of the
itenery of khe Accreditation Commission during their visit, representatives of both local business community, and partner agencies, will
be invited to separate receprions to meet the review team and discuss the City's Pazks and Recrearion system
