RESOLVED� By the Council of the City of Saint Pau•l,
that official recognition concerning the extensive contribu-
tions to the furtherance of the public welfare by Milton
Rosen is hereby taken and recorded; his outstanding and
meritorious career as an elected public official and with
extensive pa�rtA.cipation in civic affairs and activities
terminated upon� his demise on Tuesday, the first day of
September, 1970� at the age of 76 years. Born in Chicago,
he came to Saint Paul in 1906 and attended school here,
establishing the Milton Rosen Tire Co. in 1915, and for
many years he se�ved as the head of that company; he was
elected to the Ci�y Council of Saint Paul in �.93o and
served fifteen ter�s, or thirty years of devoted public
service as Commissiori�r of the City of Saint Paul, for
most of that time as Comm3ssioner of Public Works . During
his long career in business and as Councilman, he was en-
gaged in countless civic, charitable and public service
activities� and his contributions to civic affairs and
community projects and developments in the interests of
the City of Saint Paul were considerable ; be it
• � FURTHER RESOLVED' That the Counc il,y on behalf of
each of its members and on beha�� of� the Ecitizens of the
C City of Saint Paul , hereby extends to Mr. Rosen� s spouse ,
� Catharine, and to his three brothers, Elliott, of Mahtomedi;
N � David, of St. Paul ; and Sidney, of Couer d'Alene, Idaho�
�* and to relatives and many friends , condolences and the
o D Ci�y's .expression of deepest sympathy, at the loss of this
o -��o most estimable and renowned citizen and '.dedicated public
