WHEItEAS, the Ramsey County Parks & Recreaiion Departrnen[ has jurisdiction over the McCarron's Park and adjacent parking lot, and

The City of St. Paul provides a variety of recreational activities, including special events. The Winter Carnival Softbafl on
Ice Tournament is a popular annual event for recreational softbal! players. The event is planned for Saturday Feb. 1 and
Sunday Feb. 2, 2003, if the City holds Ramsey County and the City of Roseville harmles§ related to the management of
this event.
ADVANTAGES IF APPflOVED:
The City wiN be aflowed to use McCarron's lake for this event. We have the opportunity to wock cooperatively with
Iocai businesses, Ramsey County, and the City of Roseville to bring this popular event back to iYs original location.
