WHTRE9.S, Mahlon Thomas, an employee of the Department of
Public Safety, Bureau of Police, was injured in a third party
aceident on March 27, 1968, while en�aged in the performanee
of his duties; and
Y�REAS, the City has incurred medical ezpense in the amount
o� �457.26 therefor, �.nd said employee was diaa.bled from work for
a period of time being paid salary ia the a,mount of #649.40, for
which the City may claim eredit at the rate of �64.00 per �reek;
and
V+�RRAS, a compromise settl�ment has been ne�;otiated betw�en
said employee and the other part�r involved in said accident,
which provides for a net settlement to the City in the amount of
9�460.95 after deductions for proportionate attorney's fees and
costs, now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that t�e proper City Officers are hereby authorized
to accept the su.m of �460.95 in full, final and complete settle-
meat of its claim herein and to egecnte anq necessary releases
theref�r; that of' said se�m, $240.00 is thereb�r credited to the
Police Salaac� Fand and $220.95 to the Workmen'a eompensation Fund.
