1 Wf-IEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Pazks and Recreation, in cooperation wiTh the FIigliland Area Community Council, is
2 implementing a project to improve the scenic overlook located on Shepazd Road at the Former Aighway 5 bridge crossing; and

4 WHEREAS, the scenic overlook project is funded by a Narional Scenic Byways PLOgram grant and Neighborhood Star
5 program funds; and

7 WHEREAS, the Highland Area Coauttunity CouncIl has received additional STAR funds for this project in The amount of
8$12,730 to subsritute clay pavers for concrete pavers; and
9
10 WHEREAS, the Highland Area Community CouncIl has requested that Pazks and Recrearion manage and implement said
11 additional STAR funds; and
12
13 WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Pazks and Recrearion has received a donarion from the Highland Area Community Council
14 to be used towazds said scenic overlook project; and
15
16 WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation is willing to provide consffucrion management and unplementarion services upon the
17 amendment of the 2001 Capital Improvement budget; and

19 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon the recommendation of the
20 Mayor, and the posiUVe advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $16,579.77 is available for
21 appropriarion in the 2001 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2001 budget, as heretofore adopted and amended by
22 Council, is hereby further amended as follows:

to be given to St. Paal Parks and Rccrcation for the "1'wo Rivers (lverloak.
