COUNCIL OLUTION-GENERAL FORM

WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Minnesota
has enacted Laws of Minnesota for 1971, Chapter 25, Extra
Session� providing that notwithstanding any provision of
city charter or law to the contrary, any board, commission,
or department of the State or its political subdivisions
having authority to hire employees may employ unemployed
and underemployed persons pursuant to a public service
employment program when such program is substantially funded
by the United States Government; and
WHEREAS, the Congress of the United States passed
Public Law 92-94, providing funds for such programs ; and
WHEREAS� the City of Saint Paul has entered into an
agreement with the United States Government and has been
granted money under and pursuant to the provisions of said
Public Law; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish additional
positions for purposes of hiring pursuant to said law,
' - now, therefore, be it
- RE�SOI.,VED� by the Couneil of the City of Saint Paul,
that it hereby authorizes its departments to utilize the
- titles of System`s .An.alyst I, II, an.d III, and Fire Serviee
Aide in the hiring of personnel under said law and the
agreements entered into.
