Please take notice that this matter has been set on the Consent Agenda for the Council
meeting scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2003 in the City Council Chambers,
Third Floor, Saint Paul City Hall and Ramsey County Courthouse.
Enclosed are copies of the proposed resolution and other documents which will be
presented to the City Counci] for their consideration. This is an uncontested matter, in that the
facts concerning the current suspension of your Minnesota's drivers license have not been
denied. As indicated, this matter has been placed on the consent agenda portion of the City
Council meeting, during which no public discussion is allowed. The recommendation of the
license office is for the denial of your Taxicab Driver License application.

RE: Application for a Saint Paul Taxicab Driver's License
Dear Mr. Watts:
The Office of License, Inspection and Environmental Protection has recommended denial
of the taxicab driver's lieense application you submitted. The basis for the recommendation is as
follows:
Your driver's license record indicates that your Minnesota
driving privileges are currently suspended. Saint Paul
Legislative Code § 376.16 (e)(1) requires that to be eligible for
a license an applicant shall have a valid Minnesota driver's
license.
If you do not dispute the above facts, you may either withdraw your application at this
time, or you may provide evidence that your driving privileges have been reinstated. If you
believe that the driving record printout is in error, you must deal directly with the Department of
Public Safety to correct the error.
You should contact me by Monday, March 3, 2003 to let me know how you intend to
proceed. If I have not heard from you by that date, I will assume that you do not contest
the facts stated above and I wili schedule this matter for the St. Paul City Council and have
it piaced on the Consent Agenda during which no public discussion is allowed and the
recommended denial of your license application wiil be imposed.
