COUNCIL RESOLUTION—GENERAL FORM

RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Saint Paul, that said Council,
on behalf of this City and its citizenry, hereby officially recognizes the
consistently meritorious and valuable services rendered to this City, its
employees and to its citizens by Edward L. Anderson, who is retiring on
November 30, 1971 after serving the City of Saint Paul since November 5, 1923;
he started his employment with the City as an office boy and progressed through
the ranks to the title of Payroll and Audit Clerk; in which capacity he was
responsible for the correct and timely processing of all City of St. Paul and
St. Paul School District payrolls; his experience with payrolls started in
1929, and since that time he has acted as an unofficial financial advisor to
hundreds of employees; in addition to his payroll responsibilities, Mr. Anderson
was substantially involved in the final payment to property owners for property
acquired by the City; his thorough understanding of this procedure has resulted
in numerous satisfactory real estate closings and never any litigation due
to errors in property description; among the ma.ny services unselfishly rendered
by him has been his involvement in the City and County Employees Credit Union
in which capacity he served as a member of the Board of Directors since
1963 and as a Credit Union member since its organization in 1928; Mr. Anderson's
public employee career was recognized by the Kiwanis Club of S�nt Paul on
November 4, 1971 when he was presented the Kiwanis Pub1iG Service Recognition
Award; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby :
expresses its thanks to Edward L. Anderson, and through this resolution its
appreciation for his years of excellent, diligent and dedicated service to
the community; and be it
FINALLY RES�VED, That the City Clerk is hereby directed to provide
an engrossed copy of this resolution for delivery to Mr. Anderson.
