A bill for an act /��
relating to the city �f Saint Pau1 granting
the council the power to fix compensation of
officers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINIVESOTA:
Section 1. Not�aithstanding any provision of the char�er �
of the city of Saint Paul to the contrary and notwithstanding
any contrary provision of 1aw, tlze city council shall ha.ve
the power �o fix the com�ensation of all duly elected or
appointed officers under the char�er. Such compensation shall
be fixed by ordinance, passed upon in the ma.nner provided for
by the cha.rter of the city of Saint Paul and wheiz so fixed,
shall no� be increased or decreased during the term for which
s�sch officer shall have been elected or appointed. A11 fees,
monies, or renumexation of whatever character accruing to any
city officer in his elected or appoznted capa�ity shall be
reported to ihe city council and paid monthly into the city
treasztry.
Section 2. This act sha11 become effective only after
its approval by a majority of the governing body of the city
of Saint Paul and upon compliance with the provisions of
Minnesota Statutes, s�ction 645.021.
