Gentlemen:
We have your notice that a public hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 22,
1971, on the advisability of proceeding with preliminary orders as listed above.
This is known as part of the Summ.it-University Renewal Project G-1933. 'I'he House
of Hope Presbyterian Church owns considerable property in this block, particularly
that footage on Portland Avenue and approximately 120 feet on Holly Avenue. We are
endeavoring to work out a plan of development for this area which is now vacant and
which has been cleared of all houses, etc. , for additional parking space for the
church, and which we do anticipate landscaping the same in a proper and beautiful
manner. These plans axe in merely a development stage at this time.
We do ask that this matter be continued by your body for one year for further con-
sideration. We have no hesitancy in improving this alley as you propose, but we do
ask that the same be postponed at this particular time for at least one year's con-
sideration. We will appreciate your favorable action to postpone this improvement for
at least one year pending completion of their plans, at which time we will then work
with the Planning Department and the Public Works Department.
Most cordially,
HOU OF HOPE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
