WHEREAS , Section 65.03 of the Saint Paul Legislative
Code pertaining to the Saint Pau1 Model Cities Department
provides that the Director of the Model Ci��b� Program
shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the
City Council from a list of candidates or nominees
recommended to the A4ayor by the MNPC; and,
WHEREAS, the MNPC - Summit University area have
recommended the Reverend Joseph W, Pilate for position
of Director; now, ther��are, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul
does hereby consent to the appointment made by the Mayor
of the Reverend Joseph W. Pilate to the position of the
Director of the Saint Paul Model Cities Program, said
appointment to be effective June 22 , 1971.

Dear Mayor McCarty:
This is to inform you that �t the Model Neighborhood Pianning Council
meeting, heid on June 14, 1971 , at the Capitol Community Center, the
Personnel Committee presented the name of Rev. Joseph Pilate to the
MNPC for the position of Executive Director of the Model Cities Program,
and the board passed the recommendation unanimously. Therefore, we are
asking your approval immediately, in writing, in order that we may have
a copy of such for the records in the Model Cities office.
