Crentlemen:
The Building Department is hereby submitting its report on the
cond.ition of the structure at the above location.
The owner of record is John B. Davis of Da11as, Texas and the
legal description of the property is Lot 15, Block 5, Edwin Dean's Subdivision
of Part of Smith and Lott's Out Lots. A recent i.nspection indicates the follow-
ing:
Building Classification: Frame, four-unit apartment building.
Exterior: Large area of roof completely burned through. Siding
missing from walls. Porch posts, wall sheathing, wind.ow casings have dry
rot. Front concrete steps have deteriorated and are falling apart. Chimney
brick loos e.
Basement: Foundation settling. Concrete block missing. Building
greatly deteriorated.
First and second. floors: Plaster off walls and ceilings. Rooms
have been vandalized.
Plumbing, Heating and Electrical 5ystems: Plumbing is old and
run down and should be replaced and repaired. Numerous plumbing violations
throughout build.ing.
The building was secured by the City in September, 1969 and at
pres ent has two third floor windows open plus the open roof.

Inasmuch as the foregoing cond.itions constitute a public
hazard. and. the owner has mad.e no attempt to satisfactorily repair the
d.amage despite our warnings, it is the recommend.ation of this bureau
that this matter be referred to the City Attorney's office for razing
and removal through District Court proceedings.
