WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Saint Paul, by its
resolution, C. F. Z51345, approved December 1 , 1970,
authorized and directed the Purchasing Agent to offer for
sale Fire Station No. 24, located at Seventh and Flandrau
Streets, and legally described as Lots 14 aad 15, Block 1,
Kuhl's 2nd Addition to St. Paul ; and
WHEREAS, The public sale as authoriz�d above by the
City Counc3l was held on Thursday, January 28, �971, the
highest bidder being Gregory W. Tacheny who bid the amour�t
of $37,000.,0 and deposited the suai of $1 ,OOO.QO with the
City of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, The City Council, by its resolution,
C. F. 252316, approved February 5, 197],, authorized the
'� sale of two parcels of City property including th� said
Fire Station No. 24 on condit3on of receipt of the total
, purchase price and thereupon delivery o£ the City's quit
claim deed to said Gregory W. Tacheny; and
'' � WHEREAS, The proposed purchaser, Gregory W. Tacheny,
has refused to consummate the purchase of Fire Stittion No.
� 24, and has asked for a refund of his �1,000.00 deposit,
and the City Council's Land Commit�ee recomnends that the
Council approve the refund subject to tTie City's retaining
`�. the sum of $150.00 therefrom in and for compensation to
� the City for expensgs incurred in advertising the sale of
Fire Station No. 24; and
WHEREAS, Gregory W. Tacheay is willing to accept the
refund of $850.0� as conditioned above; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the Commissioner of Finance, upon
receipt of a written letter of acceptance to the terns and
conditions set forth heeein, be and is hereby authorized
and directed to make refund on behalf of the City of Saint

Re: Disposal of Fire Station No. 2�+
Gentlemen and I�a.dam:
The La.nd Committee met and considered the disposition of Fire Station No. 2�+,
legally described as follows:
Lots fourteen (l�+) and fifteen (15) Block one (1), Kuhl's 2nd
Addition to St. Paul:
Bids for the sale of said Fire St�,tion 1Vo. 2�+ were previously solicited per
C.F. 2513�+5 and a bid of $37,000.00 was accepted from a Gregory W. Tacheny
per C.F. 252316 of which said bidder did deposit a sum in the amount of
�1,000.00.
The remainder of the purchase price was not tendered and said bidder expressed
the wish to withdra.w his bid and requested his deposit of $1,000.00 be returned.
The Land Committee has considered this request and recomm.ends a refund in the
amount of $850.00 to said bidder. The rema,ining �150.00 will be retained by
the City of St. Paul to offset the processing and refunding of sa.id deposit.
The Land Committee ftizrther recos�nends that the attached resolutions be apnroved
to implement said refund, rescind vrevious resolutions pertaining to the
3isposition of said site and au�horizing the Purchasing Agent to solicit new
bids on Fire Station No. 24.
