RESOLVED, that upon recommendation of the Health and
Welfare Committee the City Council hereby authorizes and
directs the proper city officials to renew the existing
contract between the City of Saint Paul and the Group Health
Plan, Inc. with the following rates for the year of 1972:
1. Employee Coverage
Employee coverage $17.97 per mo.
Dependent coverage 36.70 • "
2. Early Retirees
Employee coverage (employee pay) $ 6.50 per mo.
Dependent coverage (" ") 31.40 " "
3. Regular Retirees (over age 65) on Medicare
Entployee coverage (city pay) $10.48 per mo.

4. Regular Retirees (over age 65) not on Medicare

FURTHER RESOLVED, that this contract is renewed subject
to the provision that any ruling by the Internal Revenue
Service in regard to Phase II of the Federal Wage and Price
Freeze Act as it applies to this contract shall be retroactive
to January 1, 1972; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Clerk shall be instructed
to send a copy of this resolution to Group Health Plan, Inc.

Gentlemen:
Group Health Plan hereby agrees that the January l, 1972 renewal
of the health benefits contract between the City of Saint Paul and
Group Fiealth as approved by the City Council shall be subject to
a ruling by the Internal Revenue Service in regard to the wage and
price freeze and that the effect of such ruling shall be retroactive
to the January 1, 1972 renewal effective date.
