1 RESOLUTION HONORING GERRY McINERNEY FOR ffiS YEARS OF SERVICE AS THE LEGISLATIVE AIDE FOR W.ARD ONE
2 WHEREAS, Gerry McInemey has served the citizens of the City of Saint Paul and Ward One as an outsTanding and often outspoken
; Legislarive Aide to Councilmember Jerry Blakey, since June of 1994, and
a WHEREAS, Gerry has been a dedicated and tenacious advocate for residents and businesses of Ward One, especially those residents and
5 businesses who are less fortunate and less able to deal with the challenges of everyday living and
6 WHEREAS, Gerry has often clashed with the inertia of the bureaucracy at all levels of govemment and has often found himseff pushing
7 the lunits of progazns and unsuspecting staff as he tried to persuade everyone to serve the interests of Ward One, and
8 WHEREAS, Gerry has eamed the respect of co-workers, superiors, public officials, and the public at lazge through lus ability to get-to-the-
9 point while maintaining a semblance of personal aplomb even in the most complicated and difficult situarions, and
o WHEREAS, Gerry's hazd work and detemrinarion has benefitted the people of Wazd One and the rest of Saint Paul through his advice and
1 counsel freely given to his boss Councilmember Jerry Blakey, whether he wanted his advice or not, now therefore, be it
z RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council does hereby recogivze and commend Gerry Mc Inemey for his yeazs of dedicated service
3 to the residents of Ward One and the City of Saint Paul, and be it

7 FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul and Councilmember 7erry Blakey thank wish to publically thank Gerry
s McInerney for his passion, commihnent and contdbution to the betterment of the lives of the people of Ward One over these the last 10
9 yeazs and for moving to the Eastside of Saint Paul to make it a better place to live.
