1 WHEREAS, Bob Connor was born and raised in Saint Paul and has been married to Nan for 36 years; and
WHEREAS, Bob and Nan have two sons, David and Mark, and added a proud addition to the family, Kelly
Charles, David's wife, who is now expecting their first child; and
4 WIIEREAS, Bob nobly served his country as a First Lieutenant basic training officer and combat platoon leader
5 in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 and was severely wounded in Vietnam where he was awazded the
6 Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Meda1 and Combat Infantry Badge; and
7 WHEREAS, Bob has worked for the State of Minnesota in the State Auditor's OfFice, assisting with the audits of
8 local government agencies from 1969 to 1973; Ramsey County Pazks and Recreation as an accountant maintaining
9 monthlyreportsandprepazingthedepartmentbudgetfrom1973to1974;theRamseyCountyAdministrator'sOffice
10 as an administrative assistant for the County's legislative program, administration of County grants and provided
11 budget assistance to the Board of Commissioners from 1974 to 1978; and
12 WHEREAS, Bob has worked in his insurance business since 1978 until Councilmember Gladys Morton appointed
13 him in 1997; and
14 WHEREAS, Bob has warked for Councilmember Kathy Lantry since her election in 1998; and
15 WHEREAS, Bob will be retiring from public service but will continue to remain active in his many volunteer
16 activities including life membership in the Disabled American Veterans, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and
17 Veterans of Foreign Wazs, as well as membership in the American Legion, the Lions Club, choir member at St.
18 Pascal's Church and is currently serving on the Mayor's committee in seazch of a sister city in Ireland.
19 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Saint Paui, specifically the residents of Ward 7,
20 wholeheartedly THAN%Bob Connor for his years of service to our city.
