WHER.EAS, Jan Pitman, an employee of the Department of Public
Safety, Bureau of Police, was injured in a third party accident
on October 5, 19'70, while engaged in the performance of his duties;
and
WHEREAS, the Ci.ty has incurred medical expense in the amount
of �183.33 therefor, and said employee was disabled from work for
a period of time being paid salary in the amount of �233.45, for
which the City may claim credit at the rate of �70.00 per week;
and
WHEREAS, a compromise settlement has been negotiated between
said employee and the other party involved in said accident, which
provides for a net settlement to the City in the amount of �155. 40
after deductions for proportionate attorney' s fees and costs;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the proper City officers are hereby authorized
to accept the sum of �155.40 in full, final and complete settlement
of its claim herein; that of said sum �g8.00 is thereby credited
to the Police Salary Fund and �5'7.40 to the Wori�men' s Compensation
Fund. �
