WHERBAS, In the matter of �Com�troller's Contract L-7311 for Constructing a
Pump Station and Force Main in POIIVT DOUGLAS ROAD from Lower Afton Road to 130U
Ft. Southeast, F. Morettini Construction Company, Contractor, Citq Project No.
70-S-1377, the specified date o£ completion is December 31, 1970, and
WHERI'sAS, The Contractor has prosecuted the work diligently but due to a
strike at the pump stat3on fabrication plant in Lanesa, Kansas, it was not
possible to complete the contract by said date of completion, therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the proper City Officials be and they are hereby authorized
and directed to execute an amendment to said contract extendin� the time of oom-
pletion to June 1, 1971, pronided however, that this reaolution shall have no
force or effect unless the sureties on the Contractor's bond �nsent thereto and
f ile such consent in writing with the City Comptroller, and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of Saint paul hereby waives all claim for
liquidated da�ages and that no engineering and inspectian costs on this project
will be charged to the Contractor for such extended period.
